You won't need to send in your qualifications if you already have your CAS.

Yes, you can collect your Student ID card and your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) at the same time.

Can I come to uni to have my photo taken if I can't upload my own online?
Yes, one of our Student Centres can help you with that.

Can I still attend the first week of lessons without having collected my student ID card?
You can still attend your first week of lessons if you haven’t collected your ID card or finished your registration yet.

Can I update my address on the student portal before arriving in the UK?
Address updates for international students are only possible when you've arrived in the UK.

Can my friend/relative collect my ID card for me?
We can only issue your ID card to you.

Can my Student ID card be posted to me?
If you are a distance learner who has completed registration and has a photo on the system, we can post your ID card to you.

Do I have to collect my ID on the campus I study at?
You can collect your Student ID at any of our campus Student Centres.

Do I need my portal login to register?
Yes, you can't register without your username and password.

Do I need to do Part 2, face-to-face registration, if I'm a continuing student?
While on the same degree you only need to do Part 1, to register. You'll have to do Part 2 if you move on to further study with us.

Do I need to register to hand in my dissertation?
If your dissertation is due in the next academic year (from September onwards), you will need to re-register.

Do I need to re-register for resits now I've finished my course?
Yes, if you have outstanding studies or are due to resit exams you will be invited to re-register to have an active student account.

Do I need to re-register if I'm a continuing postgraduate research (PGR) student?
Yes, you'll want to re-register by the September deadline to avoid being withdrawn by the system.

Do I register via the student portal?
Yes, once you have your username and password and you’ve been invited to register.

Do I still have to register again in September if I started in January?
Yes, you’ll need to complete Online Registration for every academic year (beginning in September) you continue your studies.

Do I still need to register if I'm finishing my final project ready to submit in September?
Yes, you'll have to register again to be able to submit your work and get your results.

How can I complete my ID check as I don't have my passport?
You may be able to use a different form of ID to prove your identity for registration but you'll need your passport with you when you come to collect your student ID card.

How can I get my account reactivated if I didn't complete registration and have been withdrawn?
You'll want to ask our Student Centre to help reinstate on your programme.

I didn't upload a photo during online registration so can I send one in now?
Yes, you can send in your photo late for your student ID or get your picture taken at one of our Student Centres.

I haven't done the second part of registration so how do I get my student ID card?
You'll need to have completed both parts of registration before you can get your student ID card.

I live far away from campus, how can I collect my ID card?
Unless you’re not a distance learning student, you’ll need to collect your Student ID card from one of the three Student Centres to complete your registration.

I previously studied at university. Can I resume my studies?

I wasn't aware I had to register online so how do I do it?
It's a fairly simple process. Start by going onto our student portal with the login details our IT Service Desk emailed you.

I'm a distance learner, do I need to come to university to collect my ID?
You don’t need to collect your Student ID card from campus if you’re a distance learner.

I'm trying to register online, and the page says that registration is closed for my cohort. What does this mean and what do I do?
This means that Online Registration is currently closed for your programme and you will be unable to complete it at this time.

I've lost my student ID card, how do I get a new one?
If it’s the first time you’ve lost your Student ID (Greenwich Gateway Card), you can visit any of our Student Centres for a free first replacement.

My current passport is about to expire and my renewed one hasn't arrived yet, what do I do?
You can check if a different form of identity can be used for your ID check on our Welcome pages.

My date of birth is incorrect on the system, how can I correct this?
If you find that your date of birth is incorrect on our system, you can let us know when you come in for your face-to-face registration.

My grades are incorrect during registration, how do I correct them?
If you find that your grades or the qualifications we have on our system aren’t right while you register, you can log a query on the Query Tracker.

My qualifications haven't been released from my previous institution yet. How can I complete my qualification check?
There are a number of ways you may still be able to complete your qualification checks.

Online Registration says I'm not able to register as a continuing student. What do I do?
There can be a few reasons why you can't register.

You will be able to see all Welcome activities and what we have to offer, including your induction timetable on our Welcome webpages.

We put on a variety of events to help you get to know us and your course.

What happens once I have finished online registration?
When you have finished online registration you’ll need to complete your Document Checks and collect your ID card.

What should I do as I've deferred my entry and now my login details don't work?
It'll be ok. Just wait for your registration invitation email that we'll send to you a few weeks before your course starts.

You might find it works better if your swap to a computer or laptop.

What should I enter as my Mailing address during Online Registration?
Your Mailing address is an optional address you can add if you’d like your official post (usually your certificate and/or transcript) sent somewhere other than your Permanent address.

Your Permanent address is where you’d be staying if you weren’t coming to the University or if you’re living at home during your studies.

Why do I have to register on Eventbrite to collect my ID card?
Eventbrite ensures we manage registration so we make sure we have reasonable waiting times.

Why doesn't my record show my specialism?
Please log an enquiry and we can send it to your faculty for approval.

Why has logging a query during online registration stopped me going further through the process?
Raising an query during online registration allows time for the query to be resolved so your record is fully up to date.

Why haven't I received my invite to register?
As a new student, you usually receive an invite to register around a month before the start date of your course.

Why is online registration showing my one-year course as being two years?
It may be because your course runs over two academic years.
