We understand things don’t always go to plan. If you need to interrupt your research you must ask your faculty for a 'period of interruption' to your uni registration. It's important you go to them as soon as possible and they will do their best to support you through the process. You'll need to give them a supporting statement and relevant evidence. Let them know if these are confidential. We understand deciding to interrupt your studies can be a difficult decision and support is available via our wellbeing team.
These useful resources explain more about the process of interrupting your registration:
• Academic Regulations for PGR awards, section D.
• Postgraduate Research Student's and Supervisor's Handbook, section K, p68 Interruption of Studies.
